Klíčová slova Maximization; choice paralysis; satisficing; decision making
Popis Maximization is an individual trait related to the criteria individuals place on their decision making process and outcomes. People high in Maximizing feel the need to select the best possible option available, no matter how much effort they need to exert. For these people, the more options are available and the more criteria enter the decision, the more difficult the decision problem becomes, People low in Maximizing, on the other hand, approach decision making with a threshold of “good enough”, and select the first option to meet this threshold. People high in maximization report having lower life satisfaction and more regret. Additionally, people high in maximization tend to re-examine their choices over and over, making them less loyal customers.
