The proposed research is dealing with structure, determination and interactions of oligodeoxynucleotides in solution and at surfaces. New important information should be obtained about oligonucleotides and nucleic acids at electrically charged surfaces realized by solid and modifies electrodes. Proposal goals will be achieved using voltammetric and chronopotentiometric methods and their combination with new techniques such as curent elimination and adsorptive transfer stripping. In addition, it is expected that analytical procedures obtained in this project will be utilized in development of simple, sensitive and selective biosensor fo r the electrochemical detection of DNA hybridisation. Highly sensitive methods based on the detection of nucleic acid bases will be developed to find application in various fields of biochemistry and molecular biology.
