Popis The main objective of the tutorial is to provide the students with the information on electric and magnetic properties of biopolymers and to apply this knowledge to the experimental approaches for the sensing of the interaction of biopolymers with surfaces by electrochemical and optical methods. In the introductory chapters the primary, secondary and tertiary structure of biopolymers will be shown. Further chapters will be devoted to the electronic charge distribution in biopolymers, electric field effects, and diamagnetic anisotropy. Electrochemical (voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) and optical (diffraction optical element) methods and their application for the study of the interactions of biopolymers with surfaces will be described. At the end of the tutorial lecture the effect of surface treatment of titanium dental implants on the adsorption of human blood plasma proteins will be shown and the biocompatibility and osseointegration of titanium implants will be discussed.
