Citace
Popis Role of chironomids in diversity and functional structure of stream macroinvertebrate communities is usually explained by niche concept, scale-dependent models of fluvial ecosystems, life strategies, and abundance models. General distribution patterns and taxa associations of stream chironomids were investigated based on records from the Czech Republic. Chironomid taxa being well represented in the dataset, consistently identified and covering different life strategies were selected. Multivariate methods (CART, NMDS, cluster analyses and Random Forest) were applied to find links among single taxa occurrence, coexistence, community patterns, and environmental factors. Study results contributed to understanding of macroinvertebrate communities’ patterns, their predictability, environmental drivers and chironomids traits.
