Klíčová slova | Karkadeh - Hibiscus subdariffa - Sour Tea - Arterial Stiffness - Pulse Wave Vilocity - Central Blood Pressure - Pulse Pressure |
Popis | Compared with baseline, progressive decreases with peak effects at 60-75min. after tea intake, were found in the radial Systolic Pressure (p<0.02), radial Pulse Pressure (p<0.04), Aortic Systolic Pressure (p=0.1 NS), aortic Pulse Pressure (p=0.05 NS) and carotid-radial pulse wave velocity (brachial-PWV) (p<0.05). Slightly non-significant decreases in augmentation pressure(AP) and ejection duration(ED%), and increases in time of reflection(TR) and subendocardial viability ratio(SEVR%), were found. Conclusion: The results confirm that the intake of Karkadeh (HS) extract has a significant effect on arterial tone and function and suggest that (HS) acutely decreases arterial blood pressure and stiffness with a peak effect one hour after intake. |
