Popis | Ethnic and territorial identities play and have played an important role in Canadian politics. A compounded space of political competition implies a compounded polity. Under such conditions, it is almost impossible to promote a single strong over-arching political identity. The most likely outcome will be the weak identity of a weak and fragile polity, an identity which should be sufficiently soft and vague to unload the dangerous potential and risk of direct identitary confrontations and to leave open the path to renegotiations. |
