Citace
Popis Obesity has become a global problem that requires effective approaches to its prevention and treatment. In the context of weight reduction, changes in body composition, in particular the reduction of adipose tissue and the maintenance of muscle mass, are key to improving cardiometabolic health and reducing the risk of chronic non-communicable diseases. Across different dietary approaches, dietary regularity has been shown to play an important role in the weight loss process. One of the most widely used dietary interventions in recent years is the increasingly popular intermittent fasting (IF). We know from many studies that IF can be an effective tool for weight loss, but the effect on body composition is still unclear. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of IF with continuous energy restriction (CER) on body weight and body composition, and to assess the effect of intermittent fasting in isolation from energy restriction.
