Popis | True bugs are relatively poorly known in the Pieniny Mts., while significantly better situation is in the Polish part of the mountains where 264 species are known until now. Unfortunately, only 34 species were known in the Slovak part of the Pieniny Mts. until 2017. During the last short survey in 2017 which took place within XLI. East Slovakian Nature Conservation Camp, were examined 54 previously unrecorded species increasing the number of known species from Slovak part of Pieniny Mts. to 88. Total number of species in Polish and Slovak parts of the Pieniny Mts. together is 273. It follows that the Slovak part of Pieniny Mts. requires further faunistic surveys in the future, which can bring very interesting findings; e.g. Phytocoris (Phytocoris) confusus Reuter, 1896 (family Miridae) mentioned from the Polish part of Pieniny Mts. (Smreczyński 1954: Fragmenta faunistica 7/1: 1–146) is not known from Slovakia at all. Both parts of the Pieniny Mts. have significant potential to bring the findings interesting for faunistics as well as for nature conservation. |
