Popis | Acetylation of lysine 56 on histone H3 (H3K56ac) is very rare posttranslational modification in mammalian cells. This H3 core modification increases nucleosome breathing and promotes recruitment of chromatin remodeling complexes and consequently activates gene expression. Elevated level of H3K56ac was observed in cancer and stem cells especially during S and G2 phase of cell cycle. In this study we evaluated if this H3K56ac enhancement is connected with dysregulation of acetylation pathway or simply with increased level of cells in S and G2 phase within the cell population. To determine the role of H3K56ac level during cell cycle in cancer and stem cells we used different approaches (immunohistochemistry, western blot or mass spectrometry). |
