Popis | Cross-strait economic relations are strongly politicized. It is argued that economic cooperation between Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China is strongly influenced by its ruling party. We employ econometric analysis to assess the influence of the political affiliation of Taiwanese president on the trade in goods with China. Our results show that in years 1996-2010 the trade with China was not necessarily growing faster thanks to the presence of the president from Kuomintang. |
