Popis Increasing trend of individual mobility via air space and its impacts in society has led to a formulation of a new concept in social sciences followed by research of phenomenon called aeromobility. The aim of this paper is to briefly discuss up-to-now theoretical embedding of the concept from geographical point of view and to find the fundamental attributes pointing out what part of society can be specified as aeromobile. In addition to the existing approaches being based on aeromobility potential or/and the frequent actual movement of individuals via air space we argue that the essential defining element of an aeromobile population is its identity as aeromobile. As we show on empirical examples the aeromobility potential does not always turn into movement depending mainly on the individual choices and the lifestyle questions. Simultanously the very frequent flying defines only the small part of aeromobile society. Focusing on the individual level which reflects more sensitively the mobile diversity of society we are able to identify our target group for further reasearch of impacts of flying on the perception of space and the own social status.
