Women in the global south often face critical challenges in urban transport mobility. Mobility challenges like transport-related costs and safety often prevent women's empowerment. In India, urban transport costs and safety elements are crucial that discourage women from participating in social and economic activities. To overcome such challenges, Delhi implemented the pink pass policy in 2019 to provide fare-free and safer bus transport to all women. The policy aimed at women empowerment by motivating them to engage in social inclusion, economic opportunities. Delhi state provided theoretical explanations that reforming the urban transport bus policy would increase the empowerment of Delhi women. This research will show the relationship between urban transport and women's empowerment in Delhi. The project may combine results from the previous findings from the SGS project in 2023 and 2024. The project from 2023 descriptively studies the pink pass policy and further discusses the impact of affordable urban transport on women. In 2024, I estimated the safety perception of women on Delhi public buses using a multinomial logistic regression. Using logistic regression analysis, my goal for the 2025 project is to find whether the urban transport policy intervention affects women empowerment. Therefore, studying the relationship between urban transport and women's empowerment is crucial to increase women's participation in education, employment, and social activities. Gender-sensitive policies can enhance safety and foster empowerment, encouraging women to engage confidently in socioeconomic activities. Consequently, urban transport is vital in promoting and supporting women's empowerment in urban environments.

Motivation
My research is motivated by the 2030 agenda for sustainable development goal five to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. Furthermore, the literature showed the effect of affordable and safer urban transport on women empowerment. Researchers consistently highlighted how women’s choice to participate in economic and social activities depends on urban transport costs and safety measures.

Contribution
My research is crucial in analyzing the role of urban transport policy interventions in empowering women. This research's findings could significantly contribute to policy-making and urban development.
