Europe divided? Public debates and civil society responses during the refugee crisis in Austria and the Czech Republic

The project is meant to prepare the ground for the analysis of the refugee crisis in Austria and the Czech Republic by looking at two sets of reaction dimensions: First, claims and frames proposed within the public sphere by political and societal actors and the media; and second, practices undertaken by civil society and non-profit organizations. This will be realized by 1) organizing two workshops of project participants in Brno and Vienna respectively, 2) organizing a public lecture on the topic, and 3) preparation of a publication to a peer-reviewed journal.
