The importance of data in tourism has never been greater. Globalisation forces us to take more strategic decisions to launch the competitive destination. Thus, it is essential to have appropriate tourist data. The international discussion panel about “Digitization of tourist data” brings the Czech and Slovenian experience of collecting tourist data. In this context the issue of big data and data space is mentioned.
