Description This research is focused on the issue of diagnostics of intellectually gifted children with dyslexia by Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-III). The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a typical cognitive profile of performance in this method in intellectually gifted children with dyslexia. The experimental sample was composed of intellectually gifted children with dyslexia identified in educational-counselling centres all over the Czech Republic. The mean values obtained in individual subtests were compared within the experimental group as well as between the experimental group and control groups composed of intellectually gifted children without dyslexia, intellectually average children with dyslexia and normal population. The research revealed empirical findings on certain discrepancies in performance, especially discrepancies between achieved performance in subtests Knowledge on the one hand and Coding and Digit Span on the other hand; furthermore, it revealed possible difficulties in identifying the so-called twice-exceptional children in the Czech educational-psychological practice.
