Description This chapter defines learner autonomy in English lessons and it deals with the analysis of a lesson observed and recorded in English lesson in the 9th grade at basic school. The quality of the lesson was evaluated with regard to developing learner autonomy on the basis of an analysis of learning situations and opportunities to develop learner autonomy that occurred during the lesson. The lesson was evaluated as not developing autonomy to its full potential. The part concerning alteration includes some proposals that could help increase the potential of the lesson to develop learner autonomy.
