The observed periodical variations of spectral energy distribution of many hot stars used to be explained by the presence of spots with uneven energy distribution on the surface of rotating stars. A typical example are chemically peculiar stars, but a similar type of the light variability is expected also for other stars. The nature of these spots, as well as their relationship to the surface elemental distribution remains unclear. The aim of the project is to study the spectral energy distribution variations of hot stars both from the observational and theoretical point of view. Using sophisticated data analysis we intend to describe their variability. We will focus on the determination of ephemerides of variations, and on a detailed description of these variations. We will calculate model atmospheres of individual surface elements of selected stars. Using these models we will predict the spectral energy distribution variations and compare it with observation.
