Selecting a Programme
Do you offer Bachelor's degree programmes?
Yes, we offer two bachelor's degree programmes as well. Learn more here.
What PhD programmes do you offer?
For detailed information on our PhD programmes, please see PhD studies in English.
Application Materials
Do I need to send transcripts in with my application?
Applicants are required to upload final transcripts (the record of all courses and grades from their Bachelor's degree education) in the original language, stamped and signed by the authorized university office or by a notary public official. Transcripts whose original language is not English or Czech should be accompanied by an official English language translation, stamped and signed by a translating company or an authorized university office.
I have not graduated yet; what should I do?
Applicants whose graduation date is after the application deadline shall upload their up-to-date transcript (in the original language, stamped and signed by the authorized university office or by a notary public official) and an official confirmation (in English) from their undergraduate institution stating the applicant's name, study programme, and date of graduation. Transcripts whose original language is not English or Czech should be accompanied by an official English language translation, stamped and signed by a translating company or an authorized university office. Applicants are required to submit their final diploma and transcript as soon as possible.
What test is needed for admission?
Please see Application requirements for detailed information.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is 750 CZK and is non-refundable.
After you submit your application, you will be prompted to pay the application fee. The cheapest way of doing so is by card (no additional charges - it applies to payments made from Slovakia as well). If you cannot pay by card, select the payment by bank transfer. The System will provide you with the bank account number and your unique variable symbol identifier. Please use this information in your postal money order, payment order, or Internet banking transaction document.
We recommend paying the application fee by credit card because this option is associated with the minimum possible problems that may occur during a bank transfer (e.g. incorrect entry of a variable symbol, sending an incomplete amount, etc.).
All applications received by the appropriate deadline with the application fee paid are guaranteed full consideration by the admissions committee, unless any part of their application is found to be plagiarized. By submitting their applications, all applicants confirm that they understand it is an offence to submit inaccurate information, or plagiarized or fraudulent documentation, and that the University may decline such applications.
Is there an entrance exam?
There isn't a traditional admission exam. Instead, we assess applicants' English language proficiency and academic competence through two different avenues. Applicants have the option to either submit an internationally recognized certificate or take the Scio test. They may also choose to combine both methods for a comprehensive evaluation of their qualifications. This approach allows us to consider a variety of factors while ensuring a fair and thorough assessment of applicants' readiness for our program. For more information, see the Application Requirements.
Do I need an English proficiency certificate?
All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following: TOEFL iBT (minimum score 87), IELTS Academic (minimum overall band score 6.5, no individual band score below 6.0), C1 Advanced (minimum score 180), C2 Proficiency, PTE Academic (minimum score 58), Duolingo English Test (minimum score 135, no individual subscore below 115), or Scio English test.
Exemptions apply for applicants with previous studies entirely in English in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, New Zealand, EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, or Iceland. If your country is listed, you do not need to provide a separate English language proficiency certificate, and you are exempt from the English language section of the online Scio test. If your country is not listed, you do not fulfil the English language requirement, even if your studies were in English.
Are my previous studies sufficient?
If you hold a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree, you are eligible to apply for our Master's degree programmes.
Applicants with Higher National Diploma are not eligible to apply for our Master's degree programmes.
