Practical Training
The Practical Training course is designed to bring you closer to the economic reality of the fields you study.
During the training, you will perform specific work for the given company or bureau. This work must be pre-approved by the guarantor of the course (the side of the faculty) and the person authorised by the company or bureau (the side of the training organisation).
To successfully complete the course, you have to submit the final report, which will be commented on by both the course's guarantor and the authorised person of the training organisation.
Details of the training, including conditions for successfully passing the course, can be found in the description of the course in the Information system (IS) and its study materials section.
Please note that the faculty will not be looking for a specific position for you. However, if you are interested, you can check the websites of faculty partners to see if they offer positions you would like: Faculty partners | Faculty of Economics and Administration, MU.
How does this work?
- Check if your department offers the Practical Training course (below).
- Check the requirements of the department in the description of the course in the IS.
- Find an organisation where you will work and get their approval.
- Contact the guarantor of the course at ECON MUNI and ask for their approval to work on the agreed position in the organisation (contact details of each guarantor can be found below). Please note that the guarantor of the course WILL NOT be looking for a position for you. Each student has to do that individually.
- If the guarantor approves the training, you can enrol in the course.
- You will work in the organisation for at least 3 weeks (depends on your department). You can do so whenever during the year (incl. summer holiday, examination periods, tuition period). However, the training does not entitle you to an excuse from the courses you are enrolled in during the semester!
- Get credits for meeting the requirements of the course and the guarantor at ECON MUNI.

FAQ
Is it possible to do the training during the summer?
Yes, it is possible to do the training whenever during the year. However, note that the training does not entitle you to be excused from classes.
Will the guarantor of the course find me a the training organisation?
No, each student has to do that individually in accordance with the course requirements.
Can I do the training in an organisation where I am currently employed?
Yes, that is possible as long as you meet the requirements of the course.
