Michal Kvasnička: The new app knows the locations of frequent traffic accidents. But it won’t replace police analysts.

A new app reveals the locations of frequent serious traffic accidents on Czech roads. The software, developed by scientists from the Faculty of Economics and Administration of MU in cooperation with Charles University will help traffic police officers to more easily implement preventive measures. Michal Kvasnička, its main designer, talks about why the application is needed and how it is unique.

Future transportation will be shaped by technologies as well as sustainability and social equity, says Sorath Shah

A new expert on transport economics will be joining the Institute for Transport Economics, Geography and Policy (ITREGEP) thanks to ERA Fellowship. The prestigious grant was awarded to Sorath Shah who will work under the supervision of Zdeněk Tomeš. During her two-year stay at the Faculty of Economics and Administration, she will focus on European micromobility systems such as bike or e-scouter sharing.

Cooperation between scientists and public administration institutions is crucial for improving their functioning, says Filip Hrůza from the Institute of Public Administration. The Institute has been operating at the Faculty of Economics and Administration since 2003, and during its existence it has been able to advise public adminsitration officials, city councillors as well as ministries.
