Description | Geoinformation technologies (GIT) represent a set of tools assisting quickly and efficiently solving spatial tasks. Risk events of natural and anthropogenic origin are taking place in the landscape and have a strong spatial aspect and close relationships with the features of the territory. The paper outlines the possibility of application existing data accessible in databases using commercially available GIS software. Different scenarios of crisis situations can be conveniently used to model and their solutions can be supported by geographic knowledge. Visualized basic geodata, their derivatives and special purpose instructions can be forwarded to the disaster management staff as well as to forces operating in the field directly for the decision making. Other materials generated in the map form represent an appropriate material for decision making in other phases of disaster management. |
