| Description | In recent globalized and urbanized world the metropolitan regions are the most important actors in the economic, social and cultural development of high developed countries. These areas typically consist of one or more strong centers and other municipalities in its hinterland, being connected throw the system of mutual functional linkages. Therefore it is no more possible to think about planning their development only in the administrative boundaries of settlements. To be successful it is necessary to coordinate it at the level of the whole functional area. |
