• Description: The lateral mapping of corroded surfaces of nickel samples by means of laser ablation ICP-MS has been performed with structural material for nuclear reactors. Corrosion by fluoride molten salts was investigated for variable time of exposition at elevated temperature. Test specimen sections were embedded into resin disks, polished and ablated using the raster mode. Changes in contents of elements in surface layer to the depth 50 micrometers were observed.
