Description Natural and seminatural flora and vegetation of two protected areas near the city of Plzeň was studied from 2004 to 2008. The list of 502 recorded vascular plants with their localities is presented, and the occurrence of some remarkable species is commented. The vegetation was analysed using 213 phytosociological relevés, 29 of those extracted from literature. Most remarkable plant communities are the species-rich wet forest meadows (alliance Calthion palustris), mesophilous meadows (alliance Deschampsion cespitosae or Arrhenatherion elatioris), abandoned wet meadows (alliance Calthion palustris), ash-alder aluvial forests (alliance Alnion incanae), oak-hornbeam forests (alliance Carpinion or Genisto germanicae-Quercion), ravine forests (alliance Tilio-Acerion) and beech forests (alliance Luzulo-Fagion). The diversity of the forest communities is threatened by the expansive Carex brizoides.
