Description The paper presents different interpretations of a problem situation associated with ensuring of appropriately skilled workforce and different ways of problem solutions by the selected employers in mechanical engineering (representing the Fordist production regime) and IT (representing the post-Fordist production regime) sectors in the Czech Republic. The paper tries to explain these differences by use of functionalist and institutional approaches.
