Description Here we summarize occurrence of PVL-positive S. aureus strains in the Czech Republic. The focus is on phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of eight strains that caused necrotising pneumonia between December 2007 and December 2009, with five cases being lethal. Short case reports are presented.
