Description Carbon paste electrode was used as a sensitive sensor for analysis of some amino- and methylpurine derivatives (e.g. adenine, 2-aminopurine, 2,6-diaminopurine, 8-methylxanthine, etc.) in the presence of Cu(II) with the aim to investigate the character of electrode processes and complex structure. Determination was performed at the presence by means of stripping technique in connection with cyclic voltammetry (CV) or differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Elimination voltammetry with linear scan (EVLS), which enables the elimination of selected partial voltammetric currents contributing to a total current, revealed differences in electrochemical behaviour of these purine derivatives depending on their chemical structure. Our results show that EVLS in connection with the stripping procedure is not only a useful tool for both qualitative and quantitative microanalysis of purine derivatives, but that it can reveal certain details in the electrode processes.
