Description The most modern DNA technologies as DNA chips and the sequencing of second generation are used also in the research of the pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders. The DNA chips allow to analyze up to 100 millions of polymorphisms per day and sequencing instruments of second generation allow to read up to 1 billion base pairs per day. This revolutionary increasing of success of analytic methods in molecular biology offers unsuspected possibilities that should express in the field of the molecular psychiatry research in the next years. According to intensive research, the uncovering of all genes and polymorphisms responsible for the pathogenesis of schizophrenia, Alzheimer disease and affective disorders can be supposed.
