Description Cytokine gene polymorphisms are known to influence susceptibility and disease course of many chronic disorders. Recently, interleukin-4 (IL-4) gene polymorphisms have been associated with aggressive periodontitis. The aim of this study was to test differences in distribution of the IL-4 alleles, genotypes and haplotypes between patients with chronic periodontitis (CP) and healthy controls in a Czech population.
