Description Arteficial vascular graft infection pertains to the most serious complications in vascular surgery. No satisfactory treatment of implant infection is known yet. The only solution is still explantation of the prosthesis with hard complications for the patient leading in many cases to loss of the limb or even to death of the patient. With the example of two patients the article shows our contemporary approach to solution of vascular prosthetic infection in the aorto-femoral region. The emphasis is put on preserving of the lower extremity vascular supply after removement of the infected reconstruction
