Description Most published studies about school climate use quantitative methods, especially questionnaires. This review presents the scale of qualitative methods, which can prove more useful in dealing with many research questions or practical problems. It also offers a framework for the deciding between more of less structured metods. The study presents 7 categories of qualitative methods: 1. interview, 2. observation, 3. narrative methods, 4. projective methods, 5. product and document analysis, 6. historical methods, 7. general techniques for the exploration of concepts and representations used in perceptions of school. The study also deals with moxed-method approaches.
