| Description | The subjects treated for a malignant tumour by the anthracycline antitumour agents in comparison to healthy controls and subjects trated for a tumour without anthracyclines had increased parasympathetic and decreased sympathetic tonic activity that could be documented on lower values of systolic blood pressure and higher baroreflex sensitivity. This increase of parasympathetic reflex control of the heart after antitumour therapy is not be a sign of a physical training as it is seen in healthy population, but we can explain it by cardiotoxic or neurotoxic effect of anthracycline therapy. Vice versa, we could explaine decreased body parameters and physical activity by the anthracycline side effects. |
