Keywords Treponema pallidum ssp. pallidum; regulation of gene expression
Description The possible regulatory functions of two treponemal genes, rpoN (encoding sigma-54 factor) and fhlA (encoding putative transcriptional regulator) were tested using real-time RT PCR. Genes TP0009 (tprA), TP0028 (putative hemolysin gene), TP0030 (groEL), TP1037 (hlyIII) and TP1038 (TpF1)were found to be regulated by RpoN a FhlA proteins.
