Description The distribution of mire vegetation in selected parts of Třeboň and Jindřichův Hradec regions is summarised. Mire vegetation is quite rare in this region and it occurs primarily in extensively cultivated meadows and pond edges, which are scattered throughout the agricultural landscape. Vegetation of two associations of the alliances of Caricion fuscae and Sphagno recurvi-Caricion canescentis was investigated. Using the method of Braun-Blanquet approach, 26 phytosociological relevés of mire vegetation were sampled and some of main abiotic characteristics were measured (namely pH and conductivity of water). We have assessed the importance of these characteristics in the vegetation composition. Occurrences of rare and protected plants have been detected in studied types of vegetation.
