Description | A hazard function depending on three interpretable parameters is proposed. The expression of it originates in two assumptions - the hazard depends on growth of cancer cells and cancer cell population follows the Gompertz growth model. Then a method for estimation of the parameters is developed and applicability of it is illustrated on simulated data. The described approach is applied to five sets of cancer patients survival data and it is compared with a different one - kernel estimation of the hazard function. |
