Description | The contribution is devoted to the detailed description of some procedures of elimination voltammetry with linear scan (EVLS). From the point of view of scan rates used it has been demonstrated that the principle of EVLS is widely applicable in electrochemistry. According to the different course of various elimination functions in elimination voltammetric diagram EVLS is able to identify the current nature. This has been shown theoretically using the dependence of the current elimination coefficient on the rate power coefficient , and practically by examining the electrode processes of cadmium ions (Cd2+) and phenylglyoxylic acid (PGOA) on the mercury electrode. These two depolarizers have been selected as examples serving for the verification of the theory. For an adsorbed electroactive substance, calculation of the elimination function conserving the diffusion current and eliminating kinetic and charging currents was presented. The resulting specific signal in a form peak-counterpeak does not require baseline correction. |
