Description Aim of this research was to analyze the structure of life values in Czech adolescents and to find out how is the effect of life values on perception of responsibility. A research sample consisted of 213 participants aged between 14 - 19 years. Participants were asked to name at lest three situation in which they or somebody else did something a) good, b) bad. We have focused solely on statements in which participants described their own behaviour. We use a pair comparison of ten life values for assessment of value structure. We found out that the structure of life values of girls and boys is very similar; values referring to relationships to other persons - i.e. experience partners love and feelings or living for family - belong to the most preferred. In girls, the life values referring explicitly or implicitly to other persons had an effect on perceived action. In boys, the life value working for society had a strong effect on action toward a friend while life value living pleasantly and easily had an effect on action referring to a rule.
