Description The focus of this paper is establishing a connection between adolescents' real and virtual identities with regards to their behaviour in the virtual environment. Marcia's theory was selected as the theoretical concept of identity for this qualitative research. The question as to whether adolescents, in the status of a prematurely closed identity, behave in accordance with their parents' norms and expectations in the virtual world. For adolescents in a moratorium state, we concern ourselves with the question of whether they often experiment with their on-line identity, and to what extent they use the internet to clarify their life values and views, and how they behave on the internet in respect to norms. Adolescents in the state of acquiring an identity were asked if they use the internet to clarify their values and views, although in reality they present these values and views as set.
