Description | Homo- and hetero-deoxyoligodeoxynukleotides (ODNs), including hairpins, were studied by elimination voltammetry with linear scan (EVLS). Beside the reduction signals of adenine and cytosine the oxidation signals of guanine on HMDE were observed. The registered adenine and cytosine reduction peaks are overlapped. Common voltammetric methods (LSV, CV, SWV, DPV) are not able to resolute these peaks, but EVLS in connection with adsorptive stripping (AdS) recorded two separated peaks. Various experimental conditions have been shown that the effect on the separation of adenine a cytosine signals has not only pH, concentration of substances, but also structure and sequence of nucleic bases in ODNs. New connection of two methods - AdS EVLS provides a promising tool not only for electroanalytical determination of ODNs, but also for the monitoring of structure and hybridization changes.
