Description Contact angle measurement is a highly sensitive technique for the determination of the properties of the surfaces. From the contact angle measurement, the surface free energy of thin films and the interfacial tension between the deposited film and the substrate can be obtained. The aim of the present work is to characterise plasma deposited silicon containing diamond-like (DLC) films by different models for surface energy calculation and to find the optimum determination method.
