Description This essay deals with the change of modern partner relationships in the age of late modernity. The first part characterises the modern partner relationships. It shows that these are based on the process of mutual truth self-disclosure which is connected with the construction of social reality, redefinition of identity and perception of sexuality. The age of late modernity brings about the doubtfulness of the truth. In this moment the modern partner relationships change. The self-disclosure is replaced with the quality of time of spent with the partner. In the age of late modernity it is not important who the partner is but how nice it to be with him/her.
