Description The wild-type haloalkane halogenase LinB represents an attractive enzyme with high application potential due to its ability to degrade cyclic halogenated hydrocarbons. Using protein engineering methods, a thermostable variant of LinB116 carrying a total of 9 stabilising mutations was designed. Due to increasing the melting temperature by more than 15 °C to almost 65 °C, LinB116 can be more efficiently used even under conditions where wild-type LinB already loses its functionality.
