| Description | One of the amended laws as part of the consolidation package was the Higher Education Act in relation to the social fund. The author will focus on the specific arrangement of this fund in relation to public HEIs, where he will first of all analyse whether and how public universities fulfil the obligation to establish and create this fund. Subsequently, by analysing the internal regulations, he will analyse the purposes for which these funds are used. The author will evaluate whether HEIs have an arrangement in their internal regulations consistent with the current wording of the Higher Education Act. In relation to HEIs that do not have legal regulations or the actual creation of a social fund in accordance with the Higher Education Act, he will propose possible remedial procedures, either through the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, or the HEI itself. |
