Description | Who and how primarily decides on healthcare at the end of life of hospitalized patients, what factors influence the method and outcome of this decision-making, and how do doctors and nurses evaluate the decision-making process from an ethical, medical, and psychosocial perspective? The answers to these and other questions were the content of the lecture, which offered an overview of the main outputs of the DECAREL research project, aimed at mapping and improving the decision-making process for care at the end of life of patients. In addition to the description and analysis of existing processes, a practical tool for improving decision-making and care for patients with serious illnesses will also be presented, the effectiveness of which has already been verified in a pilot study. |
