Description In the 21st century, education and business face increasingly complex challenges that require multidisciplinary approaches. This paper explores the concept of T-shaped competencies, which combine deep knowledge in one domain with a broad range of skills across other areas. By examining case studies from both academia and business, the paper highlights the importance of multidisciplinary education and collaboration in fostering innovation and competitive advantage. The findings emphasize the need for continuous adaptation of knowledge and skills, as well as the potential impact of AI tools on multidisciplinary competencies. The paper concludes that a synergistic relationship between academia and business is essential for addressing complex problems and driving value co-creation.
