| Description | When it comes to providing services to students with special needs, there seem to be two major models at higher education institutions: one influenced by the medical approach and one more compatible with the social approach. The former expects students to know best when it comes to organizing services and adjustments within their studies. The latter sees the student as a partner in a discussion and the institution is responsible for determining the reasonable adjustments, and coordinating the relevant services.
