Description Transarterial chemoembolization is an integral part of the treatment of intermediate primary and secondary liver cancer. Over the decades, this method has been continuously improved both technically and in the options of embolizing agents used, improving the prognosis of patients who often cannot undergo other therapies. This review article introduces the reader to the basic characteristics of the procedure itself, indications, course, complications and side effects. Finally, the success rate of the procedure itself is presented.
