Description | In crisis situations such as the current one, universities attempt to ensure their basic functioning, yet the needs of minorities may recede into the background as a result. However, dealing with unprecedented situations must not be an excuse for ignoring the needs of these groups, in this case persons with disabilities. On the contrary, specific situations such as this one place even greater demands on the accessibility of each institution. This paper summarises and draws general conclusions from the experience gained during the Spring 2021 semester at Masaryk University. It mainly focuses on universal design and individual service provision to students with special needs at Masaryk University, including exchange students. It also discusses knowledge resulting from the unplanned implementation of a large amount of teaching in a virtual environment. |
