Description | Making things better is at core of any innovations. But what does it mean to make something better? And is it making things better always better than let them be or even forbid any further changes? Given lecture provides basic introduction to ethics of innovations. It will be focusing on the challenges which any innovator can face such as unexpected side-effects or use (e.g., ethical approaches to risk and dual-use problem), responsibility of innovators, and responsible use of innovations (i.e., dilemma between restriction and prohibition). The main goal is to give basic tools and means how to evaluate possible ethical challenges when creating, adopting and using new things. |
