Description This report summarizes actions of the Czech central government against the spread of COVID-19 implemented up until Easter holidays 2020. The report is based on Government resolutions, exceptional measures by the Health Ministry, and media articles. The report clearly indicates that the approach in Czechia was rather restrictive and the Government reacted rather swiftly to the thread. But this was the case of the anti-spread measures, rather than the case of economic measures which was criticized together with legal controversy about some of the adopted measures. The approach taken by the national government clearly demonstrates that the country was not sufficiently prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic on planning, organisational or financial levels and the period brought many lessons for future governance of the pandemic.
